User Agreement, Guidelines & Rules

While you are here attempt to understand each other, care for each other, be open-minded, share your experiences, don’t fight, love everyone here for who they are and treat everyone how you would like to be treated. For 99% of you this should sum up our rules and if you feel this is the place you've been waiting for I welcome you with wide open arms but please consider reading this whole page so you understand where I’m coming from.  This is a patient SUPPORT site. Vendors, resellers, distributors and anyone who seeks to market to this community ARE NOT PERMITTED TO USE FIBROHUGS.ORG for the purpose of business.

 Considering the real-time nature of the Fibrohugs.org website, it is impossible for us to review messages prior to posting, or confirm the validity of any information posted. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the contents of posted messages and we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of Fibrohugs.org or any entity associated with Fibrohugs.org. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact Fibrohugs.org immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages, and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. We invite members to share openly and freely on this board. Information sharing among members is very important and we encourage newly diagnosed patients, as well as those who have been coping for some time, to share their support, wisdom and experiences. Please use this resource to help others become aware of the things that have helped you.

By posting to our message boards, you grant Fibrohugs.org permission to reprint your posts elsewhere on this website (either in full or excerpted). Fibrohugs.org will not share message board posts with readers outside of this site without express permission from each person represented in the post or thread.

Chat Rooms & Message Boards Rules, Policies, and Disclaimers:

 Please Note: This site serves the community in order to bring together people who have a health condition or are a caregiver. The purpose of these chat rooms and message boards are for exchanging ideas, and to offer comforting support to peers. All chat rooms & message boards conversations are recorded for the community's safety and security and can be reviewed by the Administration. This is a privately owned facility and subject to regulations. Fibrohugs.org may ban anyone who is not appropriate for this community. This site is not public domain. All information entered into the chat or message boards becomes the property of Fibrohugs.org and will not be shared for public viewing. Using this site voids any copyright and freely provides copyright to Fibrohugs.org so you cannot republish any information outside of this website. Please note that any information you contribute will be openly accessible to other Members within this site. We therefore caution you to keep any personal information private. NEVER give out financial information and be very careful who you give your contact information to. I. Rules:

1)      This is just a suggestion for your own safety. Please keep your personal contact information private. Please be cautious of providing too much personal information. We value your privacy. The chat can only be as safe as you allow it to be for you. If you are cautious you should be safe, if you provide your contact information to anyone your safety may be jeopardized. Please do not give out personal information in the message boards or group chat. If it’s important for you to share this information with another member and feel fully confident with them please consider doing it through the member to member private chat or private messaging so just the two of you see it.

 2)      Vendors, resellers, distributors and anyone who seeks to market to this community ARE NOT PERMITTED TO USE THE CHAT ROOMS AND MESSAGE BOARDS. Please read this twice as we do not offer a “second chance” on this action. Unauthorized warrants an immediate non refundable ban.

 3)      No solicitations what so ever. A solicitor will be classified as a "commercial interest" in these rules and bound to compliance as such. This includes and not limited to any individual or party seeking to receive any money, anyone who seeks to solicit our audience for any cause (examples not limited to joining a group, board or chat).

 4)      Federal law requires that users be at least 18 years of age before sharing personal information online. Therefore, we require users to be at least 18 years of age in order to use this chat rooms & message boards.

 5)      Only one nickname per chat rooms & message boards user. Logging in under multiple nicknames is not permitted.

 6)      You are responsible for any postings under your Registered Nickname. Sharing your Nickname and Password are grounds for an immediate non refundable ban. For your protection be sure to completely log OUT when you leave the site.

 7)      No discussions, arguments, or posts regarding a person's ban.

 8)      No extremely excessive foul, vulgar, or abusive language.

 9)      No talk of sexual actions or illegal drugs (including innuendos).

 10)  Talk of suicide or descriptive talk of self-injury is a tough call. Talk of suicide needs to be directed toward a health care professional, not toward others with depression or chronic illnesses who may also be contemplating suicide. The chat rooms & message board participants are not qualified health professionals, and are, therefore, not qualified to help someone who is contemplating suicide. If you are having thoughts of suicide we will not dismiss you and will do everything in our power to get immediate help for you. Please seek help in your area by calling a local suicide hotline and please don’t be upset when we have professional help sent to your door if we believe you are going to end your life. I have personally seen how suicide destroys the loved ones that are left behind and will do what I have to as a source of help. Yes, I care that much!

 11)  To protect yourself, and the community do not post your contact information. (Virus via email, commercial predators, bad advice with good intent and a number of other concerns exists from sharing email and phone numbers.) Within the community we have reduced the risks by providing private ways between 2 members to share information like that but we have no way of knowing what they do with it.

 12)  No degrading any other member for any reason. The rest of us don’t need the added stress. If you are having a problem with another member please document every issue and contact me with the proof for me to contact the other party.
